Six in a Row Unbeaten

The Puerto Rico Islanders remain undefeated in six games, as they beat the NSC Minnesota Stars 1-0 at the National Sports Center. With this win the Orange Troop find themselves in second place, with 26 points. The Islanders return home to square off against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers on Wednesday, July 20th. Kick off is set for 8.05pm.
 
The Islanders have not lost in the last six games and are currently undefeated at home.
 
" I am delighted with the boys. The last two games the team played well, and we look forward to the game against  Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday," said Head Coach Colin Clarke.
 
Super- sub Jared Van Schaik scored his first professional goal, after a great pass from mid-fielder David Foley. Von Schaik simply tapped the ball in after a great play by Foley. 

Puerto Rico had several chances in the first half, including a a shot off the post by  Bouraeee.
 
In the 30th min Osei Telesford let it fly from about 30 yards, forcing Joe Warren into a difficult save.
 
In the second half the Islanders continued to press in the offensive third. Team captain Noah Delgado got on the other end of a volley ten yards out, forcing Warren to use his feet to block the shot.


"It feels great to score my first professional goal but the even better thing about this goal was that it was a meaningful goal for our team in this game as well as helped our team achieve an important result ," said Jared Van Schaik
 
 The Islanders  return to "the Islandera" to receive Fort Lauderdale Strikers on Wednesday July 20 at 8:05 pm.
