The Puerto Rico Islanders, still undefeated in the 2011 NASL Season, will face the NSC Minnesota Stars this Wednesday May 18th at NSC Stadium. This will be the teams' second encounter after the Islanders 3-1 win in their home opener in Bayamón on April 26.
Following the Islanders 7-0 home win against WBC of Suriname taking them to the CFU Semis, the 'Tropa Naranja' takes the road for the following 12 days. After playing the Stars on Wednesday, the Islanders will head to North Carolina for the 2010 Championship re-match on Saturday, May 21st, and will then travel to Guyana for the CFU semis and finals to be played on May 25th and 27th.
With a busy schedule, the Puerto Rico Islanders will not only look to remain undefeated in the NASL, but also to qualify for the fourth consecutive year to the CONCACAF Champions League and to repeat the Caribbean Championship.
"It is not the first time we have had a busy schedule playing two tournaments at once. Even with a few injuries, we have a very deep roster and we are ready for the challenge", said Islanders' head coach Colin Clarke.
NSC Minnesota Stars' only loss of the season was on April 26 against the Islanders in Bayamón. Tomorrow's game is scheduled to begin at 7:30pm and will be streamed LIVE at www.prislandersfc.com/live.
