The Strikers (formerly Miami FC) began their sixth season with a 2-1 loss to FC Edmonton and a 1-1 tie to NSC Minnesota Stars, both games in Fort Lauderdale. They got their first win of the season in Atlanta where they beat the Silverbacks 2-1.
"We have had the strongest start in Islanders history with three straight wins. The Strikers are a good team but we are prepared to defend our home field", said Islanders head coach Colin Clarke.
