As an act of solidarity and to join the voices against abuse, the Puerto Rico Islanders FC wore a shirt with the “I will hug you up to your hair” slogan during their warm-ups last Saturday, when they celebrated their first game back at the renovated Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium.

This effort is part of a campaign against abuse started by the Hogar Niñito Jesús Foundation. This foundation is an emergency shelter for children between ages 0 and 7 who have been removed from their homes by the Department of the Family. For the last three months, Islanders players led by Nicholas Addlery have been gathering basic necessity items for these children.
