The Puerto Rico Islanders are pleased to announce the signing of English goalkeeper Richard Martin for the 2011 NASL season, CFU Club Championship, and eventually the CONCACAF Champions League.

Martin joins the Puerto Rico Islanders after several years of experience with various English clubs, including two years with English Premier League side Manchester City. Martin began his professional career with Brighton & Hove Albion FC of the Football League One. Most recently, Martin played for Yeovil Town FC also of the Football League One. 

"We are very excited to have Martin on our squad. He brings a log of experience from Europe and we are sure he will work very hard to earn a starting position", said Islanders assistant coach Adrian Whitbread.
