The Puerto Rico Islanders announced today their calendar for the CONCACAF Champions League 2012-13. The Islanders qualified for the competition for the fifth consecutive time last week when they won third place in the CFU Championship.  In this year’s edition of the CONCACAF Champions League, the Puerto Rico Islanders are in Group 5, where they will face the LA Galaxy and AD sidro Metapan while they to look to be one of the eight group winners who advance to quarter-finals in March 2013.

““The dates are out for our CONCACAF group stage and obviously the two dates against the LA Galaxy are at the forefront of everybody’s mind. In Los Angeles, two seasons ago, we had unbelievable support and upon returning to Puerto Rico the game sold out. They say lighting doesn’t strike twice and here we are with a unique opportunity for you all to be a part of history again and this time with the added knowledge that David Beckham will be here. The Puerto Rico Islanders’ schedule in this first stage of the competition (with local team first) is as follows:

·         Wednesday, August 1st (10:00 p.m.): Isidro Metapan vs Puerto Rico Islanders

·         Wednesday, August 29th (10:00 p.m.): LA Galaxy vs Puerto Rico Islanders

·         Wednesday, September 19th (8:00 p.m.):  Puerto Rico Islanders vs LA Galaxy

·         Thursday, September 27th (8:00 p.m.):  Puerto Rico Islanders vs AD Isidro Metapan
