Players from the Puerto Rico Islanders FC were part of the effort made by the fundraising telethon annually celebrated by SER de Puerto Rico. Players Alexis Rivera, Jonathan Faña, Joseph "Jackie" Marrero y César García made a surprise visit to Christian López, a SER participant who, besides being a fan, is friends with the players. The visit came after the presentation of Christian’s moving life story, which establishes him as an example of self-improvement not only to youngsters, but to everyone. Alexis Rivera explained the relationship that binds the Islanders to SER since last season, through the Soccer for You program. Faña gave Christian a team jersey signed by all the 2012 players . The Puerto Rico Islanders will dedicate their June 9th match to Christian, when they receive the Tampa Bay Rowdies at Bayamón Soccer Complex at 7:30 p.m.
