The Puerto Rico Islanders FC have joined Educare and their innovative therapy techniques as part of their social responsibility project “Soccer for you”. Educare is an organization that offers therapeutic activities of language, occupational and physiological therapy through circus classes. During these therapy sessions, kids, ages 5 to 17, have the opportunity of participating in an individual routine that stimulates the optimizes development of youth. This modern concept was invented by the siblings Leslynette and Jafet Ramos Irrizary, a social psychologist and an expert on circus arts in Puerto Rico, respectively.
The Islanders'players made it possible for the fans to enjoy the circus show that was brought by the kids of Educare. There were demonstration of acrobatics, juggling and balancing. The kids also wowed the crowd with unicycle performances and other expressions of the circus arts. The Puerto Rico Islanders will be participating with the children at the event “Verano de Circo”, which will be celebrated during the months of June and July. As part of the project “Soccer for You”, the Islanders will dedicate the May 12th match against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers to the “Nacer” Foundation and the May 18th match against the Atlanta Silverbacks to the “Concilio del Caribe de Niñas Escuchas”.
