Where shall I begin? This week actually started last Saturday when I watched my team Arsenal play on TV, only to be let down yet again with them losing. As a supporter, just like you, I start questioning the players and management. (Sounds familiar??, Hahahaha!!). The disappointing result left me very unhappy and angry for the rest of the day. Sunday soon came around and I was on my way to the Bayamon Soccer Complex with my assistant to play for the Bayamon Masters team.  I hadn’t kicked a ball since last October and wondered how things were going to shape up.   I was not worried about touch or my range but I was sure that fitness level wasn’t what it was 10 years.  Mind you, running around at 11:00 a.m. wasn’t quite ideal. We won the game and Alberto Santiago, from Bayamon FC, managed to score a penalty even though he was our goalkeeper.  I quietly reminded him that if he didn’t score it was a LONG run back to the car.

I had the pleasure of joining Orlando Torres, our Director of Fan Developmen,t and Ignacio Rodriguez-Argote, our Director of Communications, for the first Soccer 101 clinic of the year. Soccer 101 is when our football club goes out into public school to teach them the basics of football. (For more information click here)  Prior to starting the clincs we were on the basketball court waiting for the children to arrive. I told both Orlando and Ignacio that not once but twice I had kicked the ball the full length of the court and made it into the basket. I told them that Noah Delgado, Alexis Rivera and Richard Martinez watched me do it during a clinic in Salinas.  Well, what you see next isn’t full court, but still “Nothing but Net”:

This week, I was also called into a press conference for the CAP Foundation.  This foundation raises money for children with Cancer.  (check out the video here)Two charming ladies from our front office Vanessa, our Director of Operations and Beatriz, the young lady who spearheads all of our non-profit efforts,  volunteered me to shave my head for the Foundation. At first I was thinking “What have these girls done to me??!!” then within seconds I thought “Hold on, these children are the reason for doing it.” Come on, if having my head shaved brings the tiniest bit of happiness into their lives and their families, then I HAVE TO DO IT. So the date is for March 16th.  Please support me and this wonderful cause. (Click here for more information on how to support me and this amazing cause)

Thursday, I spent with Vane, the Municipality of Bayamon, T.V technicians, Architects and professional lighting people to go over the floodlight situation in the stadium for when the new pitch arrives. HOW EXCITING!!!!!

Finally, I still continue to put the pieces of the jigsaw together for the 2012 squad. I am almost there and very close to announcing a player choosing us over another rival and a very close friend… Any Guesses???

That’s it for me and remember, “WE ARE ALL ONE!!”
