While most players spend the off-season resting and getting away from the game, Jaime Cunningham spent the off-season getting better. After suffering what he claims is one of the “worst defeats of his life”, Cunningham spent the off-season focusing with his family and submitting his body to a rigorous training routine to prepare for the upcoming NASL Season.

“One of the reasons I came back to the Islanders is because I felt that I had something to prove.  The way the season ended was a real disappointment, so I couldn’t wait to get to work. I feel great and can’t wait to get on a pitch and work towards the only things that matter, winning championships, ”  said defender Jaime Cunningham.

After spending little time decompressing after the 2012 season, Cunningham attended “The Center for Athlete” which is run by Tom Bratcher and Don Jupp outside of Scottsdale Arizona.  There, Cunningham worked out with current DC United defender Brandon McDonald, and the current USL-1 Defender and Orlando City Defender Rob Valentino.

“It was great working out with those guys, the level was real high and the work outs were intense, I feel I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been and I really like the direction of the team. This is going to be a great 2012 season”  said Cunningham
