Islanders Sign 2 Players from the P.R. National team

The Puerto Rico Islanders signed two Puerto Rican forwards Hector "Pito" Ramos and Joseph "Jackie" Marrero for the 2012 season. Both players turned in strong performances in the last game of the World Cup Qualifiers for Brazil 2014, where they led the National team to win 3-0 against Saint Lucia. The terms of the contract were not revealed per club policy.  

Hector "Pito" Ramos started the year playing for Puerto Rico United of USL PRO. He joined the Islanders towards the end of last season on loan from Criollos of Caguas.  He was recognized as player of the year in the blog "Saque de Puerta" given yearly by Primera Hora, after scoring four times for the National Team in World Cup Qualifying.

Also a forward Joseph "Jackie" Marrero debuted with the National team this past November 14th in the game against St. Lucia at 18 years of age. He got his start in Quintana Academy. In the match versus St Lucia,  he had an excellent debut recording an assist and a goal.
