The Puerto Rico Islanders welcomed the New Hope Children's Home of Sabana Seca to the Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium for a Thanksgiving Day celebration. The team gave clincs and served a Thanksgivning Day Lunch.
"We are pleased the Puerto Rico Islanders have invited us, it’s also reassuring that the professional team has a sense of community, it’s so important to strengthen Puerto Rico," said Edy Fray Caro, executive director of the home.
The New Hope Children’s home has committed over thirteen years as a community project that serves about 300 children and teenagers, offering about 20 programs. This program was designed to help at risk youth.
"These kids came here to have a good time and we all ended up having a great day. These children will remember this experience with the sport of soccer. This is a great example of how soccer can bring the community together,", said Alexis Rivera, Puerto Rico Islander and Puerto Rico National team player.
The Puerto Rico Islanders and New Hope Childrens Home of Sabana Seca would like to thank Coca-Cola, Mr. Diaz-mass Franciso Bermudez, Longo, Diaz-Massa, Electrical and Mechanical Contractors for making this event possible.
