Bayamón, PR (November 10, 2011) - The Puerto Rico Islanders, in partnership with Bayamon FC and the city of Bayamon, visited the Miguel Cervantes High School part of the Soccer 101 program. The Soccer 101 program was established as a program to teach fundamental soccer skills and spread the development of soccer in schools across the Island.
"The players and the coaches developed basic soccer kicking drills which the students enjoyed. Several activities took place for example stationary, dynamic drills, and dribbling between cones, exercises and kicking. The kids had a great time. Their faces were worth a million dollars.", said Sharon Crespo, Physical Education Teacher of Herminia Rivera School.
The Puerto Rico Islanders' front office as well as the Bayamon FC coaching staff were teaching the kids the fundamentals of soccer. The students participated in basic passing drills, kicking drills, and exercise designed help teach them how to work as a team. Soccer 101 will take place for the rest of the year in various schools across the Island.
