To help raise awareness about breast cancer, the Puerto Rico Islanders will dedicate their match against FC Tampa Bay to the nonprofit organization "Susan G. Komen for the Cure" this Wednesday, September 21st at the Juan Loubriel Stadium in Bayamón. Kick off is set for 7:30.
Throughout the season, the Puerto Rico Islanders have executed a social responsibility project working with various nonprofit organizations. Among the organizations are GoLite for children with autism, Go for it, SER de Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico Down Syndrome Foundation, among others.
During the game on Wednesday, health care professionals will be providing information about breast cancer. According to the stats provided by the Puerto Rican Cancer Register, one of 13 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some moment en their life.
