Héctor “Pito” Ramos, forward of the Puerto Rico National Team, has officially signed with the Puerto Rico Islanders, making him the fifth player of Puerto Rican origin to form part of the Orange Troop.
“He’s a young, talented player . He has been in our radar for a couple of years now. I think it’s time for him to become part of our team and learn how the club works. We expect to have him here long term,” said Colin Clarke, head coach of the Puerto Rico Islanders.
Ramos is on loan from the “Criollos de Caguas” which is part of the Puerto Rico National Soccer League. He started the year with Puerto Rico United from Aguada in the United Soccer League (USL) where he scored three goals in five matches. Finally, Ramos completed the season of the Puerto Rico Soccer League with River Plate-Puerto Rico from Fajardo.
Ramos will be available for the next game against Carolina RailHawks this Saturday, September 17th at Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium . Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. He will also be available for the last match of the regular season of the NASL against FC Tampa Bay.
