The Puerto Rican Foundation for Down Syndrome was a big part of the Puerto Rico Islanders home game last Tuesday, August 30th. Close to a dozen kids participated in the flag ceremony between the Puerto Rico Islanders and FC Edmonton.
Axel Martinez and Karla Maldonado participated in the honorary kick off. “This opportunity for integration has been excellent. We shared as a family with the players; the kids had a very active role. All the fans who were watching the game at the Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium got to know our foundation, “said Cora Arce, Director of the Puerto Rican Foundation for Down Syndrome.
On September 7th the Puerto Rico Islanders will dedicate the game to the Boys and Girls Club and the “Obra Salesiana del Oratorio San Juan Bosco de la Peninsula de Cantera” and with the club working with kids between the ages of 5 and 7.
