Pitchkolan Named Defensive Player of the Week

Puerto Rico Islanders Defender Aaron Pitchkolan has been named the North American Soccer League Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. The Islanders held FC Edmonton scoreless at Foote Field on Saturday night with Pitchkolan helping to organize the defense.

The Islanders secured an important three road points when Pitchkolan hit a near perfect strike from outside the box in the dying moments of the match. With this victory Puerto Rico is currently in second place with 32 points and are now four points clear of NSC Minnesota.

The Islanders return home this Wednesday to square off against the Atlanta Silverbacks. The “Orange Troop” will be celebrating “Back to School Night”, giving away over 200 “Back to School” packs as well as free admission to ALL STUDENTS. College students must show ID or proof of school registration. Kick-off is set for 7:30 P.M.
