The Puerto Rico Islanders travel to Foote Field to square off against FC Edmonton this Saturday at 9:30 pm. The Islanders have only lost once in the month of July and currently sit in second place in the NASL. The Orange Troop returns home on August 10th to play the Atlanta Silvers. Come celebrate ‘Back to School” night as the Islanders will be giving out numerous school supplies and ALL STUDENTS get in free. Kickoff is set for 7:30.

Puerto Rico just came off a bitter-sweet victory in CONCACAF action beating Isidro Metapan 3-1 at Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium. David Foley scored his fifth and sixth CONCACAF Championship action and Gregory Richardson scored a last minute goal to give the Islanders the 3-1 victory. In league action; the Islanders are coming off their first defeat in eight games, after falling to the Montreal Impact 1-0 who hasn’t lost in the last five games at Saputo Stadium. The Islanders are currently in second place and look to distance themselves from FC Edmonton who currently sit in third place.
About FC Edmonton
FC Edmonton has lost their last four games including three on the road, being outscored 14-5 in July. Their last match they fell to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers 3-0 at Lockhart Stadium. FC Edmonton beat the Islander the last time these two teams faced each other by a final score of 3-0 at Foote Field. Edmonton currently sits in third place.
Back to School
The Puerto Rico Islanders will be celebrating “Back to School” night this Wednesday Aug 10th. The Club will be giving away school supplies to the first 200 kids will be given a Back to School pack. All students will be given complementary tickets to cheer on the “Orange Troop” as they defend their undefeated streak at the Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium.
