This will be the first of four games against FC Tampa Bay this season. The Islanders come from a 2-1 win in their season opener at North Carolina with a goal by Josh Hansen (NASL Offensive Player of the Week) in the 32nd minute, and a game-winning goal by Jay Needham, assisted by Hansen, on stoppage time.
FC Tampa Bay started the 2011 season with a 1-0 win over the Montreal Impact, who are headed to Major League Soccer in 2012. The goal came from Takuya Yamada in the 85th minute. FCTB goalkeeper Daryl Sattler posted the shutout with eight saves against Montreal.
